Christie
Koedel, CPNP
Christie is a licensed New York State Pediatric Nurse Practitioner as well as being nationally certified as a pediatric nurse practitioner through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and also received the Anne W. Sengbush award for leadership in school and community activities. She was also named 2003 student nurse practitioner of the year by her professors and fellow nurse practitioners in the community.
Her specialty at the office is providing asthma education to patients and families. Christie is married and has a daughter and a son. She enjoys exercising, reading and spending time with her family.
Tonya Gruttaria, PNP
Tonya is a licensed Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She is a graduate
of the State University of New York at Buffalo, receiving
a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and a Masters in Child
Health. While a student, she was inducted into the Sigma
Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She
was also named 2002 Student Nurse Practitioner of the
Year by her professors and fellow nurse practitioners
in the community. She is focused on promoting breastfeeding
and providing education and support to new moms. She is
currently working on becoming a Board Certified Lactation
Consultant.
Tonya is married, with two daughters. Outside the office,
she loves to spend time with her family and friends.
Karen Chiavetta,
RN
Karen E. Chiavetta, RN graduated from Buffalo State College
with a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She
was awarded the Noel Simmons Award for outstanding achievement
in Biochemistry. Karen returned to Sister's Hospital School
of Nursing where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was
selected class Valedictorian. She was presented the Margaret
Monaghan Award for displaying personal and professional
qualities that reflect the dignity of the nursing profession
and also received the Medical Staff Award.
Karen currently works as our new triage nurse. She provides
continuity of care by acting as a liason between the patients
and the physicians. She is responsible for sick calls
Monday through Friday.
In addition, Karen is a food allergy educator. She provides
our patients with practical information for managing food
allergies at home and at school.
Karen lives in Orchard Park with her husband and two
children. When she is not cheering them at a Tae Kwon
Do tournament, she can be found hiking with them through
National Parks or rollerblading through the streets of
Orchard Park.
